Barclays Interview Process:

The interview process of Barclays consists of following 4 steps.

Written Test / Online Test

Once you apply at the Barclays, you will have to go through the online psychometric tests.In the graduate schemes, these tests apply to Analyst and Quantitative Associate applicants, but some experienced hire applicants can expect tests during their recruitment process as well. Tests are provided by CEB’s SHL, and are designed to assess your logical thinking skills, your ability to work under pressure, and your fit with Barclays and the job you have applied to.

  • Either a numerical reasoning or a logical reasoning test (depends on role you are applying to)
  • Situational judgement test
  • Occupational personality test
  • Barclays Numerical Test

The Barclays numerical test assesses your ability to work with information provided in numerical formats such as graphs, tables or charts. In order to answer 35 multiple choice questions in 35 minutes, you have to be able to identify the correct information and carry out calculations such as percentages, ratios and basic arithmetic quickly and accurately. Due to the emphasis on numeracy skills for some strands of work, the Barclays numerical reasoning test is a challenging test.

Barclays Logical reasoning test:

Some applicants may be asked to sit a Barclays logical or inductive reasoning test. This test assesses your logic skills without words or numbers, instead using shapes and patterns to identify your ability to see patterns and use them to solve problems. If you have received an invitation to the Barclays numerical reasoning test, you will not receive an invitation to sit this test. In this test you are given 25 minutes to answer 24 questions. Barclays Situational Judgement Test:

The Barclays situational judgement test is a multimedia test setting out a series of workplace based scenarios. Your task is to choose the most appropriate response to the situation set out. The aim of this test is to assess your fit to Barclays’ values and to the skills needed for the job you are applying to, and the test has been specially designed for Barclays. In order to prepare for this test, you need to read the company’s values as well as the job description. Barclays Personality test:

The Barclays personality test is an another psychometric test measuring your fit to the person specification for the job you are applying to. This test is CEB’s SHL’s occupational personality test (or OPQ32) which has been adapted to Barclay’s requirements for their workers. The Barclays Telephone Interview:

The Barclays phone interview will be administered by an HR representative. You will be asked questions pertaining to your skill levels and why you think you are a good fit for the Barclays team. Candidate Experience

Anita New Jersey, USA: I had an Interview yesterday for a Crystal Reports Developer position. Some of these I have not done in my reporting experience and I had just a half day’s notice for the interview, hence no prep time:-( 1) Is there a way to be able to change an image(company logo) dynamically in a report? Example if you have 100 reports, and with the market uncertainty if you anticipate that the company logo might change, how can you change the image just in one place and have this reflected in all the reports at run time? 2) What is a SQL expression? 3) What are field expressions and what are the diff types? (I looked this up on the internet and never found anything with regards to types of field expressions) The interviewer really got me confused as I felt he was not clearly setting forth his questions but it could be that I was unable to understand his wording of the questions. I expect a big zero from his feedback but I am hoping this is an experience for future interviews that I face in crystal reports when I do get some more lined up. Thanks in advance!
