WRITTEN TEST
Quantitative: 20 minutes
Verbal English: 20 minutes
Technical: 20 minutes
Details of types of questions asked in each of the sections:
In Verbal ability, questions asked were on articles, reading comprehension, meanings of underlined words in sentences etc. In quantitative ability, most of the questions were on probability, permutations, Venn diagrams etc.,technical questions were easy and require basic knowledge on the subjects like control systems, machines.
PERSONAL INTERVIEW (TECHNICAL)
Some of the questions asked were about
1. Traction in India (DC/AC, magnitude of the voltage used in India)
2. Transmission voltages in India (Highest transmission voltage line and its location)
3. Motors used in electric traction and speed-torque characteristics
4. Voltage drop along EHV lines, reactive power control, Facts devices(stat-com characteristics) etc.
PERSONAL INTERVIEW (HR)
Only HR question asked is ‘tell me about yourself’.
SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCES
The whole selection was very simple and the panel was very friendly. They were only testing basic knowledge on power systems and machines. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.
